New pad for pets

This season we are offering another option for guests travelling with their pets – our newly renamed Kingsley Suite.

We have made a few changes to our extra-large two bedroom ground floor apartment.

It has its own south facing BBQ deck area, accessed via French doors, and offers direct access to the gardens. The lounge and master bedroom both offer large fireplaces with a wood burning stove, making it a great option for those cooler months and perfectly festive for Christmas. It’s also our most wheelchair accessible suite.

Although the name Charles Kingsley, local author of 1855 novel Westward Ho!, is well known in Bideford, our new name actually honours a different Mr Kingsley who was the butler at the time this part of the house was built. The apartment includes the old servants’ hall and rooms for the Housekeeper and Housemaids.

This change means that all of our ground floor rooms are now pet friendly, with first floor rooms remaining pet-free.
