The Kingsley suite is a large two-bedroom apartment with a fantastic entertaining space, perfect for family holidays, small gatherings and celebrations. It makes for a luxurious and spacious stand-alone family apartment, or combine it with one or more of our other suites, set around a central courtyard, to cater for larger groups or multiple family stays. Pets are also welcome in our Kingsley suite.
The apartment is set in the old Victorian service wing in the rooms that were once the Housekeeper's and Housemaids' rooms, the servants' hall and old washrooms. The name Kingsley has long been associated with the area. Charles Kingsley, author of the novel Westward Ho! lived in Bideford. The Kingsley School in town takes his name. But also the Butler at Moreton at the time this wing was first built was named Mr Kingsley.
The suite has a spacious and bright open plan kitchen-dining room and lounge, with fireplace, and two large bedrooms, one with its own wood burning stove, both with ensuite bathrooms, and each equally worthy of the term master. The apartment benefits from original Victorian sash windows, shutters, high ceilings and a wealth of charming period features.
There are french doors from the lounge onto a private deck area, with dining space, BBQ, fire pit and loungers, ideal for enjoying the afternoon and evening sun and strolling off into the gardens. The apartment is on the ground floor, all on a level with no steps, and highly suitable for families and elderly visitors or those with limited mobility. Master bed and bathroom are wheelchair accessible.
Ample off-street parking with fast EV charging points available. Play room, large gardens and bike/board cellar available for guest use.
